Description: The Shells and Ladders Crochet Stitch combines classic shell motifs with ladder-like spaces for a textured and lacy design. This stitch is excellent for blankets, scarves, and decorative accessories.
Instructions
- Foundation Chain: Multiple of 6 + 2 chains.
- Row 1: Starting in the 2nd chain from the hook, work 1 SC in each chain across. CH 1 and turn.
- Row 2: *Work 1 SC, skip 2 stitches, 5 DC in the next stitch (shell), skip 2 stitches, SC in the next stitch.* Repeat from * to * across the row. CH 3 and turn.
- Row 3: *Skip the first 2 DC of the shell, DC in the next 3 DC, CH 2, skip the SC from the previous row.* Repeat from * to * across. CH 1 and turn.
- Row 4: *Work a shell into the CH space of the previous row, SC in the next DC.* Repeat from * to * across. CH 1 and turn.
- Repeat Rows 3 and 4: Continue until the desired length is achieved.
