Shell Crochet Stitch

The Shell Crochet Stitch is a classic pattern that creates a fan-like design, perfect for adding elegance and texture to blankets, scarves, and garments.

Stitch Instructions

Foundation Chain: Multiple of 6 + 1.

Row 1: Work 1 SC in the 2nd chain from the hook and in each chain across. CH 3 and turn.

Row 2: Work 5 DC into the same stitch as the turning chain. *Skip 2 stitches, 1 SC in the next stitch, skip 2 stitches, 5 DC in the next stitch.* Repeat from * to * across the row, ending with 1 SC in the final stitch. CH 3 and turn.

Row 3: Work 5 DC into the SC of the previous row. *Skip 2 stitches, 1 SC in the center DC of the next shell, skip 2 stitches, 5 DC in the next SC.* Repeat from * to * across the row, ending with 1 SC in the turning chain. CH 3 and turn.

Repeat Row 3: Continue working the pattern for the desired length.
