Description: The Moss Stitch, also known as the Linen Stitch or Granite Stitch, creates a beautifully textured, woven-like fabric. This stitch is great for blankets, scarves, and garments where subtle texture is desired.

Instructions

  • Foundation Chain: Ch an even number.
  • Row 1: Starting in the 4th chain from the hook, work 1 SC. *Ch 1, skip 1 chain, SC in next chain. Repeat from * across the row, ending with 1 SC into the last chain. Ch 2, turn.
  • Row 2: Starting in the first Ch 1 space from the previous row, work 1 SC. *Ch 1, skip 1 SC, SC in the next Ch 1 space. Repeat from * across the row, ending with 1 SC worked into the space between the final SC and Ch 2 turning chain from the previous row. Ch 2, turn.
  • Repeat Row 2 for the desired length.

Uses: Blankets, dishcloths, scarves, and projects where a subtle texture is desired.
