How to decrease
HOW TO DECREASE
For the basis of decreasing, we will use a US-single crochet/UK double crochet. When decreasing a stitch, you simply work two stitches together.
Instructions (U.S. Terminology)
- Foundation Chain: Chain any number
- Row 1: Single crochet to the end, ch1, turn.

Row 2:
- Decreasing at the beginning: Insert the hook into the first stitch, pull through a loop. Insert the hook into the next stitch, pull through a loop. Yarn over and pull through all loops on the hook.
- Sc5.
- Decreasing in the center: Insert the hook into a stitch, pull through a loop. Insert the hook into the next stitch, pull through a loop. Yarn over and pull through all loops on the hook.
- Sc to the last stitch.
- Decreasing at the end: Insert the hook into the second last stitch, pull through a loop. Insert the hook into the last stitch, pull through a loop. Yarn over and pull through all loops on the hook.
