The Solomon's Knot Crochet Stitch creates a lacy, open texture with intricate double knots. It’s perfect for lightweight shawls, scarves, and other airy projects. Disregard the pattern generator of this stitch as the chains are counted differently from normal chains and stitches.   1. Category: Decorative Stitches
  2. Difficulty: Intermediate
  3. special Stitches: Solomons knot, also known as a love knot.
  4. Foundation Row: make knots as you go, when making a blanket or scarf, make a multiple of 2 knots then add a further 3 for the first turning section.
  5. Row 1: make a slip knot on your hook, ch2, sc1 in the 2nd ch from the hook, to begin the love knot, pinch the single crochet between your thumb and finger, pull up your loop to approx 1" in length, *yo, pull yarn through the loop, insert your hook into the space created, yo and pull through, (you now have 2 loops on your hook), yo and pull through both loops, (this is now 1 love knot made. pull another 1" length loop,* rep from *
  6. Row 2: skip the first 3 sc and loops of the prev row, sc1 in the 4th sc of the prev row (if you look at your work, you will have a set of 4 loops in a circle. *make another 2 love knots, skip (2loops, 1 sc) from prv row, sc1 in the next sc,* rep from * to * to the lasr 2 sc from begining of the prev row, sk 1, sc1. turn.
  7. Row 3: To begin row 3, make 3 love knots, skip the first loop from prv row, sc in the next sc from prv row. (this makes a corner) *make 2 love knots, skip the next set of 2 loops with a sc, sc in the next* rep from * to * to end.
  8. Repeat: Repeat rows 3 until the length you want is achieved.
